What can I say, I like omelets. These are the things I can deal with, maybe even rationalize. I chose them one way or another.

Several years ago, I suffered a deep vein thrombosis DVT. It was out of the blue for me, excepting the lower leg swelling I had been suffering from for the last several years.

During that time I was also suffering from sinus infections every year. And the icing on the cake was the mentally unhealthy work situation I was in.

All of these things were adding up, and most likely contributing to each other. Like my commute. Fifty-eight miles one way.

Office job, with a lot of sitting. With my physical fitness disappearing, all of these health problems acting up, it was harder to keep active.

I then started to lose flexibility; sore back, plantar fasciitus, and finally a knee that constantly barked at me oh yeah, I just found out last week I have a torn meniscus.

If you really have been told you don't have any treatment options you have two choices - sit and wait to die or do as many of the things in life that you've always wanted to do.

If you are able to, try to make some good memories for your Mum and your friends to remember you by in whatever time you have. I'm sorry to hear of your situation.

I do agree with Dave. Assuming you are still able to get out and about, spend what time you have enjoying as much as you can. I know easier said than done, but I've read so many accounts from people given just months to live and 3, 4 years later they're still here, feeling well and making the most of every moment.

Going on holiday is not all that, whereas achieving your educational dreams and pushing yourself makes us who we are. Sorry you find yourself on this forum.

There are lots of people here who are in your situation but are not "just waiting to die" as you put it, but getting on with and enjoying life as best they can within whatever limitations their disease puts on them.

You've done loads with your life so far, started university at 16, worked hard and obtained an advanced degree, no one can take that from you.

No one knows exactly when they will die, so meanwhile get out there and have some fun with your friends get a job if you are not too ill or a part time one if you can manage that.

Arrange that holiday go somewhere you will be with lots of other young people, maybe you will find romance there.

There are endless crazy things to be done for excitement whether your 22 or 62 think of something crazy to do and go do it.

Life is for living. Normally we're told what we have, what treatment options there are and how long we should expect to live with and without treatment.

Sometimes, just sometimes, people are given worst case scenarios which don't come about. Only sometimes, but often enough to give a glimmer of hope.

If you really have been told you don't have any treatment options you have two choices - sit and wait to die or do as many of the things in life that you've always wanted to do.

If you are able to, try to make some good memories for your Mum and your friends to remember you by in whatever time you have.
